Application and Admission Requirements

  1. Completed PHSC application with application fee (common application filed online with $25 fee)
  2. Completed Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program application and application fee  (This is referring to a second application and fee specific to the BSN program. It includes additional documents required and is submitted as one package for review. The checklist will identify any prerequisite courses required prior to admission.)
  3. Official high school transcript or GED scores indicating receipt of a high school equivalency diploma, if required for documentation of foreign language requirement (completion of two consecutive years of one foreign language). The foreign language requirement must be met prior to the completion of the bachelor's degree. This requirement can be met by any of the following:
    1. Completion of two years of high school instruction in the same foreign language
    2. Completion of two sequential college-level courses in one foreign language
    3. Achievement of minimum scores on a foreign language proficiency exam approved by the Admissions and Student Records office
    4. Completion of a high school diploma from a foreign country where the student studied in a language other than English
  4. Official transcripts from each United States college and university attended other than PHSC
  5. Official transcripts showing an Associate in Science degree in Nursing from a regionally accredited institution or a diploma in nursing accredited by the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC) or Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN)
  6. Minimum grade point average (GPA) of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale
  7. Copy of a current, unrestricted, unencumbered registered nurse license from the state in which the applicant is practicing, to be kept current throughout the duration of the program
