LIT105 Hip-Hop as Literature
This course will examine the growth and the aesthetics of hip-hop as both a form of culture and a form of popular literature, and it will look carefully at the role of hip-hop in contemporary American cultural life. Students will read texts, listen to songs, and compose multiple brief essays that integrate these sources in order to express and support informed viewpoints on the topic. The course will build up to a written assignment that students will present and turn in as a response paper.
