OTA220 Special Topics in Occupational Therapy
A closer study of topics of special interest and demand in contemporary occupational therapy practice. Clinical reasoning that integrates evidence-based practice, principles of interprofessional team dynamics, and awareness of personal and professional responsibilities in special interest areas is emphasized in the process of studying these topics. Topics may include but will not be limited to community and primary care programs; care coordination and case management; assistive technology; orthotics and prosthetics; pharmacology; ergonomics and universal design; feeding, eating and swallowing; driver rehabilitation; public health; telehealth; complementary and alternative therapies; business aspects of healthcare and private practice; academia and emerging areas of practice.
