HUS112 Principles and Practices of School-Age Child Care Programs
Participation in workshops, classroom discussions, self- reflections, field work and other assignments should enable students to: discuss developmentally appropriate practice in school-age child care settings; describe the developmental stages of school-age children in the social, emotional, physical and cognitive domains and apply these principles to the design and establishment of the physical environment, program scheduling, and health and safety practices for group management; utilize techniques for conflict resolution and for inclusion of children with special needs.
