New Student Orientation Advising & Registration and Parent Orientation

All accepted new students are strongly encouraged to attend New Student Orientation. Students are invited to attend New Student Orientation after acceptance to the College and after completion of proficiency testing. Additional information regarding New Student Orientation will be provided to all accepted students.

New Student Orientation provides information about adjusting to college, campus resources, policies and procedures, and student life at NSCC. The advisement portion includes clarification of mathematics and communications proficiency results, instruction and assistance with reading the College’s schedule, assistance

with program selection, and schedule building from an academic advisor.

Parent Orientations run separately from the student program and focus on a variety of topics of interest to parents of new students. We encourage parents to attend and learn about the College and explore the various experiences and challenges students may experience during their first year. The support and encouragement students receive from family members often contribute to their success.
