IEL205 Electronics 1
Introduces the silicon diode and its characteristics along with the bipolar junction transistor, the junction transistor and metal-oxide-semiconductor (MOS) field effect transistor. The concept of DC bias and load line are explored to determine the quiescent operating points of these devices. Small signal incremental models are introduced if time permits. Computer software tools and laboratory experiments are utilized to reinforce concepts. (3 hours of lecture, 2 hours of lab per week)
