PSY 655 Personality and Behavior Assessment

(3-0-3) This course provides a foundation and training in theory and administration of personality and behavior assessment in adults, children, and adolescents. The course covers the rationale, administration, scoring, and interpretation of contemporary objective measures, such as the MMPI. The course also heavily emphasizes behavioral assessment, including functional analysis. The appropriate application of these assessment tools and the ethical considerations, including language, gender, and cultural bias, regarding their use in clinical settings will be discussed. Psychometric issues such as norms, reliability, and validity will be introduced.
