ENF.2070 Major Film Directors
This course examines several filmmakers whose work has been considered to have sufficient consistency and merit as to be made by an "author." We interrogate the concept of authorship in cinema in terms of its history, politics, explanatory power, use as marketing strategy and other strengths and limitations. Directors will vary, but the course is global in focus, with a diverse variety of filmmakers from different parts of the world included.
