Computer Science

Introduction & Overview 

The Computer Science major is designed to give a student in this program a solid background in applied and theoretical computer science. Graduates of the program will have the skills necessary to enter the business world or pursue graduate study in computer science.

Computer Science majors study program design and programming starting with Java. A student will study advanced programming, data structures used in programming, sequential and random access files, database design, programming languages, computer architecture and low level programming, and various advanced topics in Computer Science.

The variety of course offerings also allows ample opportunity for non-majors to develop or enhance their computer skills, and science clubs will allow them to interact with the science community at Manhattanville.
