MGPS.5080 Data Analytics for Business

In the last decade the business world has acknowledged an increased need and use of data to drive decision making. Organizations often collect data from point of sales, marketing initiatives, customer surveys, and website traffic to name a few. Data and analytics are driving business decisions that are changing industries. Business leaders will need to be able to understand the importance of collecting data, how to interpret the data, and what the data truly means. This course will prepare a student to use statistical analytical tools to make decisions. The course makes substantial use of real-world projects, case studies and hands-on assignments. Presenting data and Story-telling with data will be a key component to this course. Graduate students will be expected to demonstrate deeper understanding of the materials covered in the course.
