NUR 4050 Wound Care

This course introduces the student to comprehensive acute & chronic wounds. Anatomy and physiology of the skin including biochemical differences between acute and chronic wounds will be covered. Students will be provided with information on identifying the risk factors, wound assessment, various wound types and dressing selections as well as infection management. This course will have an organized approach using evidenced based practice with focus on the principles of wound management and many evolving treatment modalities.
