ITL 1004 INTENSIVE INTRO ITALIAN II

Intensive Intro Italian II is the second part of a two semester language course which focuses on the four skills of language learning: listening, speaking, reading and writing. The course and is designed for students who would like to deepen and broaden their communicative knowledge of the language. The emphasis is on giving students the tools to engage in everyday, routine tasks and to be able to exchange information more confidently on topics related to personal interests, familial relations, work and circumstances in which one finds oneself on a day to day basis. The course begins with a grammatical review to reinforce and build upon the basic grammatical elements introduced in the first semester of study. Various texts, such as letters, newspaper articles, popular songs, will be used to develop students' written and oral linguistic ability, including expanding significantly their vocabulary in areas most closely associated with everyday activities and personal interests. To achieve these goals, the course adopts various classroom activities - listening exercises and games, role-playing, peer correction exercises, and interviewing.
