HIS 3138 Atlantic Revolutions, 1770-1830

This advanced seminar will examine developments that led to the rise of a 'revolutionary culture' in the countries bordering the Alantic between the years 1770 and 1830. We will further examine what difference the long decades of war and revolution made in the political history of the Atlantic world, and how these conflicts laid the foundations of the modern world.
