Campus Visitation Policy
Definitions
Host: A host is defined as a student who takes responsibility for the actions of their guest(s) and/or visitor(s). A host must remain with their guest or visitor at all times until they depart the campus.
Guest: A guest is defined as a residential student who visits a residential student in a residence hall other than their assigned building. Residents of that building are expected to host such a guest, which means meeting the guest at a building entrance and escorting the guest at all times. Guests (defined as residential students) do not need to be registered as a visitor. Note that non-residential students may not register guests to visit residential facilities.
Visitor: A visitor is defined as:
- ·non-Manhattanville person or a commuter student of Manhattanville College who is visiting a student in one of the residence halls or
- a non-Manhattanville person being hosted by a commuter student on campus. Only residential students can host visitors in the residence halls.
Guest and Visitation Policy
Residential students are permitted to host guests in their bedroom or common area within their suite, as long as they comply with the occupancy limits described in the student code of conduct, and all parties wear a face mask/face covering during the visit, if not fully vaccinated.
Residential students will be permitted to host visitors and guests (overnight or otherwise) in the residence halls or on Manhattanville College campus grounds as long as
- The guest registers for the visit if overnight or more than 6 hours
- The guest/visitor is vaccinated and can show proof of vaccination
- Any and all suite or roommates have agreed to the guest visiting
- Guests are always accompanied by the host
- All guests follow campus code of conduct.
Guests (as defined above) are responsible for informing residents in the room that they are staying with, that they are unvaccinated.
Violations of the campus visitation policy will result in judicial action for Manhattanville students. Students will be charged with failure to comply, along with any other relevant charges. Commuter students and non-Manhattanville parties may be asked to leave campus immediately.
