Family Nurse Practitioner, Master of Science
About the Program
The Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) program at Manhattanville College’s School of Nursing & Health Sciences (SNHS) prepares advanced practice registered nurses (APRNs) to meet the needs of humanity in a complex health system locally, nationally and globally. The 42-credit program is designed to be completed in seven semesters (fall, spring, and summer) of part-time study through a blend of asynchronous didactic content, synchronous class sessions, and in-person Advanced Family Nursing Practicums. The FNP program is designed for RNs with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BS) who are interested in primary care, promoting health, and preventing disease. Master of Science degree graduates are prepared to pursue board certification and credentialing offered by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) and the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners Certification Board (AANPCB). Once certified, they can provide family-centered primary care.
The purpose of the program is to prepare students to:

- Receive a Master of Science (MS) in Nursing Major
- Be eligible for New York State Licensure as a Family Nurse Practitioner.
