Computer Electronics Technology (BIOM, CETT, CPMT, EECT, EEIR, LOTT)
The Computer Technology Department’s Computer Electronics Technology program offers an Associate in Applied Science degree with specialization in Computer Technology, Telecommunications Technology, Computer Networking Technology, and Biomedical Electronics Technology.
The Computer Electronics Technology program also offers two certificates: a One-semester certificate in Computer Maintenance and a One-year certificate in Computer Maintenance. Certificates are designed for individuals who desire preparation for immediate entry into the workforce. In addition, the program offers an Occupational Skills Award in Computer Maintenance.
All program courses are practical in nature. Lectures are supplemented by dedicated labs where emphasis is placed on the progressive attainment of skills in a "hands-on" environment.
All the department’s A.A.S. awards are applicable towards a baccalaureate degree. The department has articulation agreements with Texas A&M University at San Antonio, the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley, and with South Texas College.
