General Policy

Laredo College has an "open" admissions policy, which ensures that all persons who can profit from post-secondary education have an opportunity to enroll in courses. Admissions to the college however, does not imply admission to any particular program of the College. There may be additional requirements for admission into specific programs.

Students who wish to register at Laredo College must first be admitted. Applications may be processed at the Office of the Registrar and Admissions or online at www.applytexas.org. Students must present a permanent identification number for example their social security number or tax identification number. All students will have a college identification number issued to them at the time of admissions. This ID number is to be used while student is enrolled at Laredo College.

The State of Texas has adopted Senate Bill 1107, which requires all-first time in college students, 21 and under, who wish to enroll in a public or private college or university provide evidence of immunization against bacterial meningitis. Effective Spring 2012, all students enrolling for the first time at Laredo College must provide evidence that they have had the vaccine administered. Evidence must be provided at least 10 days prior to the first class day. An exemption may be requested by submitting the form available online at https://corequestjc.dshs.texas.gov/ to the Office of the Registrar and Admissions.
