Three Year Honors Elementary Education-Teacher of Students with Disabilities Program

Program Description:

Kean University, the largest producer of teachers in New Jersey, is now offering high-achieving students the chance to earn a B.A. in Elementary Education with a certification in teaching students with disabilities in just three years. 

If you are admitted into this selective program, you will take summer or winter session classes, as well as an additional class during most fall and spring semesters. After completing the required credits, you can enter the workforce ready to contribute to the growth and development of the next generation of young people.

This accelerated program offers you the rigorous coursework and field experiences that have made Kean graduates stand out in the job market for decades.

  • Learn how to work effectively with children in a multicultural environment
  • Study best practices in creating lessons and assessments
  • Create instructional activities for children at various developmental levels

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Students with a minimum high school g.p.a. of 3.0 who also score in the top 30 percent on their SAT or ACT qualify for admission into this honors program.
  • Students may also qualify for additional federal, state and private financial aid and scholarships available to all Kean students.
