CHEM 5520 FT-NMR SPECTORSCOPY
Catalog Description: An intorduction to the theory and applications of modern, multinuclear, FT-NMR spectrometry. Theoretical topics include the basis of chemical shift, spin relaxation, nuclear coupling, and the Nuclear Overhauser Effect. In addition, the prinicples of pulse sequence design and applications will be included. Students will also have opportunities to conduct actual NMR experiments, including molecular structure elucidation of small molecules and proteins using one- and multidimensional-dimensional specra. (3 hr. lecture) Prerequisites: Chem 2182 and Chem 3382 Major Elective for the Master of Science in Chemical Instrumentation
