MAT 265 Elements of Mathematical Proof
3 hours
This course will prepare students for advanced study in theoretical mathematics classes. Mathematical proof techniques will be introduced, along with the logic and reasoning behind them. Topics studied include sets, relations, conditional statements, necessary and sufficient conditions, quantifiers, direct proof, indirect proof, counter examples, mathematical induction, set identities, equivalence relations and modular arithmetic.
