The Children’s Center at John Jay College offers a warm, nurturing and enriching environment for children on their journey of life-long growth, discovery and success. Within the context of a developmentally appropriate environment, children learn through age-appropriate, hands-on experiences, and opportunities for multi-sensory exploration and discovery. Our focus is on the development of the whole child, as they grow and mature socially, emotionally, physically, and cognitively.
The Children’s Center provides quality child care, and an early education program that meets the needs of both the student parent and the child. We support our John Jay student parents, so they can fully participate in college life and attain their educational goals. Our child care services, and early childhood program is designed for children of John Jay student parents, ages six months through pre-kindergarten (6 months-5 years of age).
Children of undergraduate students are given priority. Graduate students, and non-matriculated students are accommodated on a space-available basis. Some fee subsidies are available and awarded based on family income. More information and applications may be obtained by visiting the Children’s Center website: www.jjay.cuny.edu/childrens-center
The center is open during Fall and Spring semesters from 7:45 am to 5:30 pm, Monday through Thursday, when classes are in session. It is also open Friday from 7:45am to 3:00pm. (Hours are subject to change.)
