Undergraduates Taking Graduate Course Work:
Franciscan Franciscan University undergraduate nursing students are offered an opportunity to take a maximum of 9 selected nursing credits at the Graduate level that may be applied toward the MSN degree should they choose to pursue a master’s degree at Franciscan. The Department of Nursing does not guarantee that other MSN programs will accept these courses for credit.
Undergraduate students will be admitted to graduate level courses on a “space available basis.” Graduate students’ registration will take precedence. Process for the undergraduate nursing student who wishes to take selected MSN course work:
- Seek permission of academic advisor
- Must be entering the Senior year
- Have a minimum of 3.0 GPA in Nursing courses
- Have no current course deficiencies
- The undergraduate students and the RN to BSN students in MSN courses are expected to complete work designed for the graduate level.
If the student does not meet the above criteria, the student may appeal to the Department of Nursing APG Committee for a review of the situation. This appeal must be in writing.
