Use of Artificial Intelligence
The University recognizes the immense potential benefits of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in a variety of academic and professional contexts. While these technologies can be valuable tools for research and inquiry, they also raise important ethical considerations. The University’s policy aims to strike a balance between harnessing the benefits of AI and ensuring the integrity and educational objectives of our academic programs.
To that end, the University entrusts to instructors the prerogative of allowing or forbidding the use of generative Artificial Intelligence technologies (for example, Grammarly, ChatGPT and QuillBot) in their courses. The University’s policy is that students may not use generative AI to create any content for a course assignment (whether audio, textual, or graphical) without the express permission of the course instructor. Unauthorized use or submission of generative AI. content constitutes a violation of FUS’s academic integrity policy.
