PSY 3830 EVOLUTIONARY PSYCHOLOGY

Evolutionary Psychology uses the biological theory of evolution as a basis for understanding human behavior. Through exposure to primary and secondary source material, this course will cover basic principles of evolutionary theory, psychological topics that have been informed by evolutionary theory (e.g., prosocial behavior, aggression, cognition, and interpersonal interaction), and current debates on how and whether evolutionary theory ought to be applied to our understanding of human psychology.
