GEO 3560 INTRODUCTION TO REMOTE SENSING
Remote sensing is the science and art of collecting and interpreting information about the earth's surface through non-contact methods. This course provides an introduction to the basic concepts and processes of remote sensing. It covers the principles of electromagnetic radiation and its interaction with the atmosphere and surface, interpretation of aerial photographs, basic photogrammetry, the principles of satellite data interpretation, the fundamentals of digital image processing, and the principles and applications of global positioning systems (GPS).
