History A.B. - Teacher Licensure

A Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in History with Teacher Licensure requires the completion of the Elon Core Curriculum as well as the Major Requirements listed below.

Major Requirements

Required Courses: 8 sh

HST 3010	RESEARCH METHODS	4 sh
HST 4970-4979	SEMINAR: SPECIAL TOPICS	4 sh

Select sixteen hours of HST at the 1000- or 2000-level: 16 sh

• Students must select at least one U.S. and one non-U.S. history course.

Select one HST elective at the 3000-4000 level for each of the following three areas: 12 sh

• Four hours of U.S. history
• Four hours of European history, including ancient history
• Four hours of history of Africa, Asia, Latin America or the Middle East

Additional courses: 12 sh

• Choose from either GEO 1210, Global Physical Environments or GEO 1310, The World's Regions
• POL 1110, American Government
• ECO 1000, Principles of Economics
