Course Description

CHEM 1307. INTRODUCTORY CHEMISTRY II (3-0-3) Second semester of chemistry for students in non-science and/or technical applied science majors and for majors in some baccalaureate nursing programs. A continuation of the fundamentals of inorganic and organic chemistry, including selected biochemistry concepts, gases, liquids and solids, solutions, chemical equilibria, oxidation/reduction, electrochemistry and nuclear chemistry. CHEM 1307 when taken with CHEM 1107 is equivalent to CHEM 1407. Credit not given for both this course, CHEM 1407 and CHEM 1412. Does not count as science credit for degrees in sciences and engineering. Prerequisites: CHEM 1305, CHEM 1406 or CHEM 1411, or have permission of the Department Chairperson.
