Pharmacy Technology, Associate of Applied Science - PT23
The Pharmacy Technology Associate Degree Program prepares you for employment in pharmacy departments in hospitals, clinics, long-term care facilities, commercial businesses, and other related facilities. The program develops you academically and professionally with a focus on knowledge base, technical skills, and work ethics. The program emphasizes didactic and clinical instruction necessary for job attainment, retention, and advancement. As a program graduate, you will be eligible to sit for a national certification exam for pharmacy technologists.
All pre-requisite courses Noted with an asterisk * and occupational courses for the Degree and Diploma program must be successfully completed with a grade of C or better before registering for any PHAR courses and, to continue in the path for graduation. In the last semester all students are required to take the Pharmacy Technician Certification Exam “PTCB-Exam. The pass or fail of the PTCB-Exam is not a determining factor for graduating.
Students must Register with the Georgia State Board of Pharmacy which includes a State and Federal Background check for clearance to participate in experiential and to work in any Pharmaceutical Setting.
PRE-REQUISITES: SEMN 1000, ENGL 1101, MATH 1111, BIOL 2113, BIOL 2113L, BIOL 2114, BIOL 2114L, HUM 1101, SPCH 1101, ALHS 1040, ALHS 1090. PSYC 1101 and ALHS 1040 Intro to Healthcare Assistant can be taken with first semester PHAR 1000, PHAR 1010.
