Graduation Requirements

To graduate from Columbus Technical College, students must pass all required courses with a minimum 2.0 grade point average in their program of study.

Students graduate with the course requirements that are applicable at the time they enroll in a program if they remain continuously enrolled until graduation. Students who withdraw from a program must graduate with the course requirements that are in effect at the time they re-enroll. Graduates of Columbus Technical College programs receive a degree, diploma, or Technical certificate of credit, depending on the program.

Prior to graduation, all degree, diploma, or Technical certificate of credit students MUST do the following:

  1. Achieve regular program admission status for the program from which they plan to graduate before their last semester in that program.
  2. Earn a graduation grade point average of 2.0 in the program of study.
  3. Settle all financial obligations to Columbus Technical College.
  4. Complete all program curriculum requirements.
  5. Request the application of any transfer credit, credit for prior training or experiences, and exemption examination credit toward the program requirements (25 percent of program requirements must be completed at Columbus Technical College).
  6. Complete the graduation screening in the Registrar’s Office and pays the $35 non-refundable graduation processing fee.
  7. Be in good academic standing with Columbus Technical College.

As advisement for each semester begins, all students who will be eligible to graduate from their current major at the end of the semester for which they are registering should make an appointment with the Registrar’s Office staff for their graduation screening. When the students attend their appointments, they will be informed in writing of any deficiencies. Students who have no deficiencies will submit their diploma information to the staff in the Registrar’s Office at that time.
