PLAN 683 Planning Thesis Methods

In this course, students are introduced to the challenge of engaging in research that is both novel and relevant to the discipline of urban planning. This course prepares students to pursue a master's thesis project. The focus of the class is creating a research question, hypothesis (or argument), literature review, methodology, and project timeline for the thesis project. As master’s theses are individual projects that vary greatly, students will be required to do significant independent work, and come to class prepared to report on progress. Prerequisite: PLAN 613 with a minimum grade of C. A student must earn a B- or better in this course to continue working on an individual thesis.
