Anthropology
Anthropology is the comparative study of people and their lifeways across the full temporal and spatial range of human experience. Cultural, biological, archaeological, and ecological lines of evidence all contribute to anthropological investigations of human diversity. Anthropology provides a strong foundation for interacting with diverse human cultures, an important ingredient for living successfully in modern society with its global focus. Students are provided with a major that is especially strong in ecologically oriented archaeology. All students will have an opportunity to work on archeological excavations or in the Archaeology Laboratory. Students may complete their elective courses by choosing from one of four emphasis areas: Archaeology, Biological Anthropology, Cultural Anthropology, or Forensic Anthropology.
