Office of Professional Development
WilmU Law’s Office of Professional Development (OPD) is where you will find coordinated career support and assistance for job search preparation and obtaining a position after law school. Career support will be available for all students.
Our mission is to offer direction, resources, programming, and networking to assist you in your professional growth and in your job search.
Career services and experiential learning opportunities are integral to your professional development and to developing your professional identity as a lawyer. Through career related opportunities, activities, reflection, and preparation you will engage in learning about yourself and the type of lawyer you want to become. This personal and professional development will continue throughout your career.
As a WilmU law student, you play a critical role in your experience and in your success. To get the most out of the services, resources, and opportunities we provide, it is your responsibility to participate in and engage with activities offered and resources made available. To help you stay on track, you will be expected to check in with the OPD at the beginning and end of each semester. Additionally, you have a professional responsibility to complete a graduate employment survey as you prepare to graduate, and to provide an update ten (10) months after graduation.
