Statement of Purpose
Purpose
Washington State is a world leader in information and communication technology, ‘new economy’ business, agriculture, aerospace, and life science. These industries create a demand for qualified talent, provide a source of expertise, and are potential partners for student internships. The founders of Washington Technology University envisage a small residential university that not only prepares students to participate in these industries, but also draws the expertise of these organizations into the teaching and learning process. In short, a university that leverages this unique local context to develop students’ global competencies; and one that prepares students to be adaptive learners, capable of achieving success as they are promoted into leadership positions around our rapidly changing, interconnected, and challenged world.
The University’s immediate purpose is to provide innovative, reasonably priced, and timely programs in two of these areas: Information Technology and Business. To this end, the University has been authorized by Washington Student Achievement Council to offer the Bachelor of Science in Information Security and Bachelor of Science in Information Technology and Management degree completion programs, and the 4-year Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration program.
