CHEM 4355 Medicinal Chemistry
This course introduces students to fundamental concepts of drug design and the molecular mechanism by which drugs act in the human body. Topics include the structure and function of drug targets such as receptors, enzymes, and nucleic acids; principles of pharmacodynamics and pharmacokinetics; biotransinformation of drugs and the strategies involved in discovering, developing, and designing new drugs for marketplace usage as well as examining current classes of drug in clinical use.
