Asian Studies—Interdisciplinary Concentration

The Asian Studies concentration brings together History, Government and International Affairs, English, Music, Philosophy, Religion, Cultural Studies, Art, Modern languages and International Business. The program instills an appreciation for Asian history, culture, politics and economics, and builds awareness of the differences among the continent's regions. Students explore courses such as Introduction to Asian Studies, Topics in Chinese History and Topics in South Asian History. The concentration requires 21 credit hours.

Asian Language Coursework
Languages include: Japanese, Chinese, Korean, Arabic, Hindi, or any other Asian language as approved by Asian Studies Director.
These 6 hours may be completed through language study abroad, with approval of the Asian Studies advisor.
Concentration Coursework
Select 21 credit hours from the list of courses. Additional courses with a focus on Asia may be taken as part of the concentration with the approval of the Asian Studies coordinator.
