DABA 662 Behavioral Analysis in Higher Education
DABA 662 is a doctoral level course focused on issues related to the behavior analytic literature on education and instruction with a special emphasis on adult learning. The course prepares students to design and evaluate educational materials created to change the knowledge and/or skills of learners. The course examines the distinction between learning, ergonomic, and motivational problems in both the classroom and the workplace and emphasizes evidence- based methods for teaching complex conceptual behavior. In preparation for class meetings students will read and comment on the literature, and complete a sequence of assignments related to teaching and evaluating a course that they would like to teach. Class meetings will include a combination of group discussions, weekly quizzes, and student presentations. A cumulative final exam will be taken at the end of the semester.
