ED 343 Introduction to Language & Literacy

This course examines children's language and literacy development from Kindergarten through grade 6 and considers current research from a sociocultural perspective that has shaped literacy instruction and assessment over time.  Evidence-based teaching approaches encompass a framework inclusive of the constructs of emergent literacy, phonological and phonemic awareness, literacy and informational comprehension, vocabulary, and writing instruction.
