EDR 560 Children's Literature

Examines a variety of genres of children's literature to cultivate students' interest in books and develops methods for incorporating literature into classroom literacy instruction. Candidates learn strategies from a global and multicultural perspective to comprehend, interpret, analyze, and evaluate texts in a variety of genres including literary and informational text, poetry, persuasive and functional texts into which the content and pedagogy of literacy is embedded. Candidates learn how to apply skills to diverse situations, resources, and ideas.
