OCC 20200 Principles of Occupational Therapy: Pediatric Practice

Explore the development of the child from infancy through young adulthood and the effects of social, intellectual, developmental, psychosocial, sensory and physical limitations on occupational performance, and development.  Students learn the importance of providing family-centered interventions, the requirements of working in the educational system and the benefits of inter-professional collaboration to address the complex needs of the population. This course includes a minimum of a 2 visit Level 1 Fieldwork experience where students integrate and apply course concepts.

Prerequisite

OCC 10200, OCC 10500 and OCC 10700 with a grade of C+ or higher

Corequisite

PSY 20300 (if a student has completed prior to OCC 20200 they must achieve a grade of C or higher) and OCC 10300 (if a student has completed prior to OCC 20200 they must achieve a grade of C+ or higher)
