ART 244 Honors Rebels and Romantics: Art and Literature of the 19th Century
An exploration of major artists and writers of the 19th century, whose works provide the roots of Modernism. Romanticism in its various manifestations---including revolutionary art, gothic art, outsider art, and the art of the natural world---will be studied through paintings, architecture, novels, short stories, plays and poems. Three classroom hours and one-hour online assignments and discussion. Fulfills literature requirement for AA degree.
