Physical Education courses may be taken more than once for additional credit in subsequent semesters. A maximum of one credit per varsity sport is permitted each academic year. Graduates with backgrounds in Physical Education may become elementary or secondary school teachers and coaches, physical therapists, athletic trainers, aerobics instructors, personal trainers, sports managers, and recreation directors.
Program Learning Goals - Graduates taking physical education courses will understand the following principles of fitness and wellness:
- Balanced undergraduate program - Students take courses in their undergraduate program to enable them to later specialize in related physical education careers.
- Fitness and wellness - Students are exposed to practical experiences throughout their PE course work that are critical to fitness and wellness.
- Demonstration of a diversity in professional course work - Students take elective PE choices to enhance their professional options as a well-rounded, healthy individual.
