Advanced International Certificate of Education Program (AICE)
Students may be awarded up to 30 credit hours of college credit based upon the transfer of Advanced International Certificate of Education (AICE) Program credit, provided that the award of credit is consistent with the minimum score established by the Florida Department of Education's Articulation Coordinating Committee.
Advanced Placement (AP)
College credit may be granted to students who present minimum qualifying scores on one or more of the Advanced Placement (AP) program examinations of the College Entrance Examination Board as outlined in Internal Management Memorandum #3-20. These examinations must be taken prior to enrolling in the College, except for dual enrollment high school students. Twenty-five percent of the program must be taken in residency at PHSC.
College-Level Examination Program (CLEP)
Students may earn a maximum of 45 semester hours of college credit by submitting a score of 50 or above under the College-Level Examination Program (CLEP). Students will be charged a testing fee. Twenty-five percent of the program must be taken in residency at PHSC.
Credit may be awarded for CLEP Subject Examinations if submitted scores are at or above the percentile specified in rules of the State Board of Education and Internal Management Memorandum #3-20. Evaluation of CLEP credit is made after the application fee is paid and students are admitted to the College. CLEP credit will appear on the student's permanent records without indication of a grade. Credits earned through CLEP do not satisfy the program residency requirements. Students seeking this credit are strongly advised to discuss their academic plans with an advisor before registering.
Credit-by-Exam Equivalents
Credit for Advanced Placement (AP), International Baccalaureate (IB), College-Level Examination Program (CLEP), Cambridge Advanced International Certificate of Education (AICE), DSST, and UExcel Examinations shall be awarded as designated by the Articulation Coordinating Committee (ACC) and approved by the State Board of Education.
Students may earn credit in designated foreign language courses by receiving a passing grade on the BYU Foreign Language Achievement Testing Services (FLATS) exam or by successfully completing the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACIFL) assessment.
DSST
Students may be awarded up to 45 credit hours of college credit based upon passing scores on the DSST exams from Prometric. Credit will be awarded in accordance with credit-by-examination course equivalents and the maximum credit guaranteed for transfer as determined by the Florida Department of Education's Articulation Coordinating Committee. Students will be charged a testing fee.
International Baccalaureate (IB) Credit
Up to 30 semester hours of transfer credit shall be awarded on the basis of IB examinations, with no grades or grade points assigned. The cutoff scores used to grant postsecondary credit shall be established by the State Board of Education.
UExcel
Students may be awarded up to 45 credit hours of college credit based upon passing grades on UExcel exams from Excelsior College. Credit will be awarded in accordance with credit-by-examination equivalents and the maximum credit guaranteed for transfer as determined by the Florida Department of Education's Articulation Coordinating Committee. Students will be charged a testing fee.
