Applied Technology Diploma

An Applied Technology Diploma (ATD) consisting of a course of study that is part of an Associate in Science (AS) degree, is less than 60 credit hours, and leads to employment in a specific occupation, shall be awarded to students who have met the requirements of that diploma. An ATD program may consist of either technical credit or college credit.

  1. Emergency Medical Technician

    This college credit-hour program prepares students for employment as emergency medical technicians to function at the basic prehospital level and treat various medical/trauma conditions using appropriate equipment and materials. The program prepares students for certification as EMTs in accordance with Chapter 64E-2 of the Florida Administrative Code. The program is approved by the Department of Health, Bureau of Emergency Medical Services and the curriculum adheres to the U.S. Department of Transportation Emergency Medical Technician Basic National Standard Curriculum. This is the initial level for a career in emergency medical services and the prerequisite for paramedic training and certification.
