Academic Success Center (ASC)

An Academic Success Center (ASC) is located in the library building on each campus. The ASC provides academic support to assist currently enrolled PHSC students achieve their academic goals.  Each ASC offers peer and professional tutoring (on campus and through remote platforms), computer and software access, make-up testing and resources for students with disabilities. The ASC staff members work with instructors to seek recommendations for materials to remedy educational deficiencies. The ASC Coordinators also provide academic coaching n the form of classroom visits, workshops and individual student consultations.

The ASCs on the East, North, Spring Hill and Porter campuses offer common placement testing, TABE, and FCLE testing.

Additionally, the East Campus ASC is an approved test center for Certiport, CIW, CLEP, DSST, Florida Certification Board, MSSC and Pearson Vue. Available exams include AutoCAD, CompTIA, Certified Production Technician, CLEP subject exams, DSST subject exams, Firefighter II, Florida Basic Abilities Test, GED, HESI, QuickBooks, Microsoft Office Specialist, TEAS, UExcel subject exams, and many more.
