MEA 0204 Medical Assisting Clinical

MEA 0204 Medical Assisting Clinical is designed to provide real work experience in a physician's front and back office following the Florida Department of Education (FDOE) Student Performance Standards.

Prerequisite

MEA 0002, MEA 0002L, NCH 0050, Successful completion of all other program courses. Successful completion of a current NCH 0050 Basic Life Support. Submission of the following documentation:

Notes

1. Current basic physical examination indication good health.

2. Current Tdap (tetanus, diptheria, +pertussis) immunization.

3. Current influenza (flu) immunization.

4. Completed hepatitis B immunization series or signed waiver.

Current negative tuberculin (TB) test.

6. Positive blood titers indicating Immunity to rubeola (measles), parotitis (mumps), rubella (German measles) and varicella (chicken pox).

 Negative or equivocal titer(s) require immediate immunization(s) to be eligible for MEA 0204 Medical Assisting Clinical.

7. Current satisfactory criminal background and level II fingerprint check.

 A student who has been indicted, found guilty of, or entered a plea of no contest to a felony or any offense that would disqualify one for employment in healthcare will result in program disqualification.

8. Current negative urine alcohol/drug screen.

A positive alcohol screen or positive drug screen for a medication not currently prescribed will result in program disqualification.
