SOC 355 Power and Sexuality

This course will consider the role that sexuality plays in the American imagination especially the way that sexuality is constructed and serves as a mechanism of social control. In doing so special attention will be paid to the ways in which human sexuality intertwines with axes of power in contemporary America such as race ethnicity gender class and sexual orientation.
