University Student Handbook

Student Health Insurance

The university assumes no responsibility to provide or reimburse students for the cost of medical or other health care services for any illness or accident beyond those available in the University Health Service. An exception to this policy involves the immediate evaluation and treatment of students who have been exposed to needle sticks or potentially hazardous blood or blood products in either instructional laboratory or clinical settings of the university or affiliated clinics. More information regarding exposure to blood borne pathogens and needle sticks can be found in the Student Handbook.

Students are strongly encouraged to have health insurance coverage. Information on accessing various health insurance programs can be obtained on the Student Affairs website.
