MET122 Materials
This course provides a survey of the various materials used in advanced manufacturing, including ferrous and non-ferrous metals as well as non-metalic materials (plastics, elastomers, ceramics). The course emphasizes the relationships among atomic sturcture, physical and mechanical properties, and performance characteristics of common industrial materials. Topics will be reinforced through industry examples, case studies, and team-based problem solving activities.
