COVID19 Face Mask and Social Distancing Policy

In accordance with Governor Baker’s Executive Order, effective Wednesday, May 6, 2020, all persons over the age of two are required to wear face masks or cloth face coverings in public places where social distancing is not possible. This applies to both indoor and outdoor spaces where proper social distancing of 6 feet cannot be observed.

In response to this executive order, effective immediately, all North Shore Community College students must wear non-medical face masks to assist in preventing spread of the coronavirus to NSCC community members. Face masks must be worn at all times while on College premises, even where proper social distancing may be possible. In certain circumstances, social distancing guidelines may be adjusted so that students can complete specific academic tasks under the direction of faculty. In these cases, students will be advised of the proper guidelines and provided with additional PPE as needed to maintain safety. 6 feet of social distancing must be maintained at all other times.

Students who are allowed to be on-campus and who need a face mask may receive one from NSCC Campus Police on either the Lynn or Danvers campuses.

If there is a specific reason why you are not able to wear a mask, an accommodation for an exemption from this Order may be granted from Accessibility Services by contacting accessibility@northshore.edu.

Violations of this Order should be reported to Campus Police or the Dean of Students Office and will be resolved through the established Code of Conduct procedures for students.
