OTA202 Advanced Group Process
An expanded study of group dynamics and its application to the promotion of mental health and wellness within occupational therapy practice. A lab course exploring types of therapeutic groups, group member roles, group development, and group leadership. Using didactic and experiential learning, emphasis is placed on developing effective communication, therapeutic use of self, understanding the importance of the therapeutic relationship, group leadership skills, and factors that influence group interation and function. (2hours of lab per week)
